Jeremy Cummins

Bio

Since 1995, Jeremy Cummins has been developing interactive technologies. A computer programmer since childhood and trained as a graphic designer, he found an exciting application for both these skill sets at the advent of the internet. Since then he has worked on a vast range of projects, including: marketing, e-commerce, entertainment, and educational software.

Jeremy has spent most of his professional career working in New York City, where he had the opportunity to work with some of the best people in his field in a rigorous environment where high demands and tight deadlines were the norm.

Now a recent transplant to Southern California, he strives to not only complete the tasks set before him by his clients, but also to understand the fundamental motivations of their business in order to better advise them on strategic initiatives.

When not in front of a computer, you can find him snowboarding.

Scholastic System 44

Word Tetris
Word Tetris

For three years up until October, 2008, I was on a development team at Scholastic, Inc., working on the learning software suite, System 44, which they have recently released. I created many prototype activities in Flash, then was placed on the final development team to help migrate those activities into Flex.

The following page of examples weren't meant to be web apps, but activities that are part of this software. These are working prototypes, not the finished visual design, but proof-of-concept:

Posner Advertising

Animated Home Page
Animated Home Page

I designed and developed this site while employed at Posner Advertising. The site is no longer live, this is a backup copy on my server. Please note that this backup is mostly functional, but you may encounter a few parts that do not load.

One of the technological feats of the Posner site is that it is a Flash site with full SEO. All the content is loaded from standard XHTML pages which can be indexed by search engine spiders from Google, Yahoo and others. When the site was live, all the content from it was listed on links from Google and when you clicked on a link the relevant page would be loaded by the flash front-end.

Here are a couple of my favorite Flash games that I've built:

Afrin Instant Relief Challenge

The Afrin Instant Relief Challenge was used in a kiosk arcade cabinet and taken to trade shows.

Star Game

This game was made just for my own enjoyment. If you reach 50,000 pts you will get a special boss monster to fight.
